Senior Project Engineer | Arizona

 

Overview

 

InfraRec is hiring a Senior Project Engineer for a $1B site development contractor specializing in earthworks, utilities, and mining. This role is based in Arizona and supports the delivery of large-scale site development projects from preconstruction through closeout. The position reports to project leadership and works closely with field teams, owners, and subcontractors.

 

Responsibilities

 

  • Manage project engineering functions including submittals, RFIs, change orders, and document control
  • Review plans and specifications and coordinate with the design team to resolve conflicts
  • Prepare and maintain project schedules, budgets, and cost forecasts
  • Track quantities, production rates, and cost reports for earthwork and utility scopes
  • Support subcontractor procurement, contract administration, and pay applications
  • Coordinate with field supervision to plan work, sequence activities, and resolve issues
  • Monitor project quality, safety, and compliance with contract requirements
  • Mentor and guide junior engineers and project engineers

 

Qualifications

 

  • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field
  • 5+ years of project engineering experience in heavy civil, site development, utilities, or mining
  • Working knowledge of earthworks, underground utilities, and grading operations
  • Experience with construction scheduling and cost control software
  • Strong understanding of contract documents, change management, and project accounting
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and project management platforms
  • Ability to communicate clearly with field crews, clients, and management

 

Day-to-Day

 

  • Review daily field reports and update project logs
  • Process submittals, RFIs, and change order documentation
  • Meet with superintendents and foremen to review upcoming work
  • Update cost reports and compare actual costs to budget
  • Coordinate with subcontractors, suppliers, and owner representatives
  • Review plans and quantity takeoffs for upcoming phases
  • Support project managers with reporting and client communication
