Overview

InfraRec is supporting a long-standing, established contractor within the U.S. power and utility construction sector with two Project Manager openings based in Cedar Rapids, Iowa. The contractor is part of one of the largest utility construction groups in the industry and has a strong track record delivering major power infrastructure projects.

There are two openings available:

• Project Manager, Transmission Line Construction
• Project Manager, Substation Construction

The Project Managers will oversee construction projects from planning through completion, with responsibility for project execution, cost, schedule, safety, quality, and client coordination.

Salary: $120,000 to $135,000

Responsibilities

• Manage the overall execution of transmission line or substation construction projects

• Develop and maintain project schedules, budgets, forecasts, and cost controls

• Coordinate with field leadership, subcontractors, vendors, engineering teams, and clients

• Monitor project progress and address schedule, cost, quality, and resource issues

• Review contracts, drawings, specifications, change orders, and project documentation

• Manage project financial performance and provide regular reporting to company leadership

• Coordinate procurement, materials, equipment, and workforce requirements

• Maintain clear communication with clients, project stakeholders, and internal teams

• Identify project risks and develop practical solutions to keep work on track

• Ensure projects are executed in accordance with company safety, quality, and environmental requirements

• Support contract administration, invoicing, forecasting, and closeout activities

• Participate in project meetings and provide updates on project status, financial performance, and key issues

Qualifications

• Experience managing construction projects within the power, utility, electrical, or heavy civil construction sectors

• Experience with either transmission line construction or electrical substation construction

• Strong understanding of construction project management, scheduling, budgeting, and cost control

• Ability to read and interpret construction drawings, specifications, contracts, and project documentation

• Experience managing subcontractors, vendors, field teams, and client relationships

• Strong communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills

• Ability to manage multiple priorities while maintaining project requirements

• Proficiency with standard project management and Microsoft Office software

• Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Business, or a related field is preferred

• Willingness to travel to project sites as required

Day-to-Day

• Review project progress with field and project teams

• Monitor schedule, budget, manpower, materials, and equipment requirements

• Communicate with clients and resolve project issues

• Review project documentation, drawings, contracts, and change orders

• Coordinate with subcontractors, vendors, engineering teams, and internal departments

• Track costs, forecasts, commitments, and project financial performance

• Attend project and construction meetings

• Identify potential schedule, cost, safety, and execution issues and coordinate corrective actions

• Provide project updates to company leadership

• Support project closeout and final documentation

They are looking to add a Senior Project Manager to their team, based in North Carolina, with a scope covering infrastructure and bridge construction. They are looking to add a Senior Project Engineer to support large scale site development and earthmoving projects, based in South Florida.
