InfraRec is working with a leading High Voltage contractor in the USA to identify experienced Project Managers for ongoing and upcoming Transmission Line and Substation construction projects across Upstate New York.
The contractor has an established portfolio of work with National Grid, NYSEG, NYPA, and Avangrid, with additional projects scheduled to come online. The current project pipeline for 2027 is larger than in any previous fiscal year.
This position is based in Syracuse, NY, with project responsibilities across surrounding Upstate New York territories.
The Project Manager will be responsible for managing the successful delivery of Transmission Line and/or Substation construction projects, including project financials, schedule, safety, quality, subcontractor coordination, and client relationships.
Compensation: Up to $150,000 base salary, plus discretionary bonus and company vehicle or vehicle stipend.
• Manage Transmission Line and/or Substation construction projects from preconstruction through completion and closeout.
• Manage project budgets, schedules, forecasts, costs, and overall financial performance.
• Coordinate with Superintendents, General Foremen, Project Engineers, subcontractors, suppliers, and utility representatives.
• Maintain project schedules and monitor progress against contractual requirements.
• Manage project documentation, RFIs, submittals, change orders, and other construction administration requirements.
• Review plans, specifications, contracts, drawings, and project requirements.
• Identify and manage project risks, schedule issues, cost impacts, and change management.
• Coordinate procurement and material requirements with internal teams and suppliers.
• Maintain regular communication with utility clients and other project stakeholders.
• Prepare project reports, forecasts, progress updates, and financial information for company leadership.
• Support project billing, cost tracking, forecasting, and commercial management.
• Ensure projects are delivered in accordance with company, client, safety, quality, and regulatory requirements.
• Support commissioning, turnover, punch list activities, and final project closeout.
• Participate in preconstruction, estimating, and project planning activities as required.
• Experience managing High Voltage electrical construction projects.
• Experience with Transmission Line and/or Substation construction projects.
• Previous experience working for an electrical contractor, utility contractor, EPC, or similar construction organization.
• Experience working with major utility clients is preferred.
• Strong understanding of construction scheduling, project controls, cost management, procurement, and contract administration.
• Ability to review and interpret electrical drawings, specifications, contracts, and construction documents.
• Experience managing project budgets, forecasts, costs, and financial reporting.
• Strong communication and client management skills.
• Ability to coordinate multiple project stakeholders and field teams.
• Proficiency with construction and project management software.
• Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related field is preferred. Equivalent industry experience will be considered.
• Willingness to travel to project sites across Upstate New York.
• Manage project activities across office and field operations.
• Work with project and field teams to maintain schedule, budget, safety, and quality requirements.
• Communicate with utility clients regarding project progress, issues, changes, and upcoming work.
• Review project costs and forecasts and address variances with the project team.
• Coordinate subcontractors, suppliers, materials, equipment, and site requirements.
• Review project documentation and address RFIs, submittals, change orders, and other project issues.
• Attend project meetings with clients, internal teams, subcontractors, and other stakeholders.
• Work with Superintendents and field leadership to resolve construction issues and maintain project progress.
• Provide regular updates to company leadership on project performance, schedule, costs, and risks.
• Base salary up to $150,000, depending on experience and qualifications.
