Substation Construction Superintendent

Overview

We are seeking a Substation Construction Superintendent to join our team in a non-union capacity. This is an exciting opportunity for experienced professionals to oversee and manage substation construction projects in Charlotte, NC (and neighboring territories). Please note that these roles require extensive in-state travel.

Responsibilities

Oversee and manage all aspects of substation construction projects, ensuring they are completed on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards.
Supervise and coordinate the activities of construction crews, subcontractors, and vendors.
Ensure compliance with safety regulations, company policies, and industry standards.
Conduct regular site inspections to monitor progress and address any issues or delays.
Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and other stakeholders to ensure project objectives are met.
Prepare and maintain accurate project documentation, including schedules, reports, and logs.
Provide leadership and guidance to the construction team, fostering a culture of safety, efficiency, and professionalism.

Qualifications

Proven experience as a Construction Superintendent, preferably in substation or utility construction.
Strong knowledge of substation construction processes, equipment, and safety protocols.
Excellent leadership and communication skills, with the ability to manage and motivate teams effectively.
Proficiency in reading and interpreting blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings.
Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
Ability to travel extensively within the state as required by the project location.
Valid driver’s license and a clean driving record.

Day-to-Day

Lead daily construction activities, ensuring adherence to project plans and timelines.
Conduct safety meetings and enforce safety protocols on-site.
Coordinate with subcontractors and suppliers to ensure timely delivery of materials and services.
Monitor project progress and provide regular updates to stakeholders.
Address and resolve any on-site challenges or conflicts.
Ensure all work is performed in compliance with applicable codes, standards, and regulations.
