• We are seeking a Senior Field Technician (Level III) with strong experience in electrical testing and field service work.
• Opportunities are available in Virginia, Maryland, Washington DC, Ohio, and Indiana.
• Compensation is $45 to $60 per hour, with up to 40 hours of weekly overtime paid at time-and-a-half.

Responsibilities

• Perform electrical testing and commissioning of medium- and high-voltage electrical equipment and systems.
• Test and troubleshoot transformers, switchgear, circuit breakers, protective relays, CTs, PTs, and related equipment.
• Perform insulation resistance, contact resistance, hi-pot, power factor, and other electrical testing as required.
• Conduct relay testing, calibration, and functional testing of protection and control systems.
• Review electrical drawings, schematics, specifications, and test procedures.
• Identify equipment issues, document test results, and communicate findings to customers and project teams.
• Complete accurate test reports and field documentation.
• Follow NETA standards, company procedures, and applicable safety requirements.
• Support commissioning activities and coordinate testing with contractors, engineers, utilities, and other field personnel.
• Provide technical direction and support to less experienced technicians when required.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience in electrical testing, commissioning, or related electrical field service work.
• Experience testing medium- and high-voltage electrical equipment.
• Strong understanding of electrical testing procedures and test equipment.
• Experience with protective relay testing and power system testing.
• Ability to read and interpret electrical drawings, one-line diagrams, schematics, and specifications.
• NETA certification or experience working to NETA standards is preferred.
• Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work independently in field environments and manage testing activities safely and accurately.
• Valid driver's license and ability to travel to project sites as required.
• Ability to work extended hours and significant overtime when project schedules require it.

Day-to-Day

• Travel to utility, industrial, commercial, and infrastructure project sites.
• Set up and operate electrical test equipment.
• Perform field testing, commissioning, troubleshooting, and equipment inspections.
• Review test results and identify abnormal conditions or equipment issues.
• Complete test reports and other project documentation.
• Coordinate daily testing activities with customers, contractors, engineers, and project teams.
• Follow site-specific safety requirements and company procedures.
• Work schedules may include extended days, weekends, and significant overtime depending on project requirements.
